Labelling becomes crystal clear for customers as ink-free, full-colour label printer launched

Customers are set to have brighter labels as Brother launches an innovative full-colour direct thermal label printer for both the office and home.

Introduced following customer demand, the VC-500W ZINK™ printer creates labels in a spectrum of colours using ZINK Zero Ink™ Technology.

Affordable crystal-clear printing is achieved by the use of the popular ZINK paper™. Colour crystals are embedded inside the ZINK paper™ which when heated, activates the crystals, creating a high-quality, full-colour print. As the printer uses continuous length rolls, you can design, print and cut your labels up to 40cm long.

Retailing at €169, the machine is extremely low-cost compared to other full-colour label printers in the market.

The effectiveness of full-colour print makes the device ideal for use in the office, hospitality, visitor and event management, food manufacturing, facilities management and education sectors as well as the home and craft market. Labels can be used to organise filing systems efficiently, for stand-out health and safety and security notifications, attract customers to points of sale as well as highlight important information.

Labels can be designed at the office using a PC and Brother’s P-touch Editor software through Wi-Fi or USB connectivity. Home users can create labels using their mobile device and Brother’s free Colour Label Editor app, connected to the machine through Wi-Fi.

Users can easily design customised labels by selecting size and font of text, rotating text, adding a photograph from the camera roll, including a frame, changing colour of the text and background or using the stamp function to repeat the text.

Features of the device enhance user experience; the labels are neatly cut with ease through a simple finger wipe across the touchpad. The roll cassette notifies the user through the app of the length of roll left on the cassette, minimising any downtime to replace the consumable. Unlike some competitor products which have multiple passes, the VC-500W printer is fast as it prints in one pass.

A choice of five widths of roll - 9, 12, 19, 25 and 50mm - provides flexibility and at 5 metres long, allows the creation of many labels.

Eddie McMahon at Brother Ireland said: “Brother’s new VC-500W printer uses ZINK Zero Ink™ Technology. The device was introduced following customer demands to have full-colour label printing, which is reasonably priced.

“The option to include text, photographs, logos and frames using a full spectrum of colours on varying roll widths provides customers with so many options. The device creates professional images which can be used for visitor badges, hospitality, events, filing systems and much more to increase the productivity of the user.”

The VC-500W printer is available retailing at €169 +VAT for the device, one roll of ZINK paper™, printhead cleaning roll, AC adapter and USB cable.
