The WEEE directive is a producer responsibility legislation which requires producers to take-back and recycle their end of life products. The aim of the directive is to reduce the amount of waste electronics going to landfill and to encourage producers to design their products to be more environmental. The directive has been transposed into member states' legislations and Brother registers with national authorities in all relevant countries. The registration processes are country dependent and each local Brother office ensures compliance.

    

 
  Batteries  
 

      

The battery directive introduces a producer responsibility system for the collection, treatment and recycling of waste portable, industrial and automotive batteries the aim of the legislation is to increase battery recycling rates across all European member states. The directive has been transposed into member states' legislations and Brother registers with national authorities in all relevant countries. The registration processes are country dependent and each local Brother office ensures compliance.

     

 
  Packaging  
 

    

Producer responsibility legislation also applies to the packaging around Brother products. The aim of the directive is to reduce the amount of packaging going to landfill and to encourage producers to design their packaging to me more environmental e.g. recyclable and weigh less. The directive has been transposed into member states' legislations and Brother registers with national authorities in all relevant countries. The registration processes are country dependent and each local Brother office ensures compliance.
