Brother launches first print and scan iPhone app
Printing technology specialist, Brother has launched an iPhone application, which offers photo printing, as well as a unique scan function.
Brother iPrint&Scan is free to download and allows customers to wirelessly print and scan to their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad - providing compatibility with Brother's latest inkjet multifunction printer range*.
Managing Director of Brother Ireland , Sean Sheehan, comments: "We've developed the application in response to the growing popularity of smart phones and touch-screen devices like the iPad.
"The Brother iPrint&Scan app is the first of its kind on the market. In addition to photo printing, it allows documents to be scanned directly to the handheld device - helping customers achieve more functionality from their mobile technology."
All of Brother's latest inkjet multifunction printers (introduced from 2009 onwards) that have a network or wireless interface are fully compatible with the application, including its popular A4 and A3 colour machines.
The application has initially launched in English and Brother is planning to introduce French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch versions by the end of the year.
The company has also revealed that a similar application for Google-based Android smart phones is due for release over the coming months, designed for devices using Android 1.6 or later.
Brother iPrint&Scan is available to download at the Apple iTunes store from July 2010. For more information please visit www.brother.eu/app
