Brother achieves Nordic Swan eco-label for laser print solutions

Printing technology specialist, Brother has achieved the renowned Nordic Swan environmental label on a wide range of its laser printing solutions - helping customers to identify high performance products that offer a low eco-footprint.

The Nordic Swan is a world leader in environmental standards and is one of Europe's most well-known eco-trademarks*. To gain its certification, Brother has met with stringent criteria regarding power usage, product lifespan, emissions, eco-functionality and recycling.

Originating as the official eco-mark for the Nordic countries, the Nordic Swan is increasingly being used outside of northern Europe too - and achieving this certification is part of Brother's ongoing commitment to reaching global environmental standards.

Twelve of Brother's printer and multi-function laser machines will now feature the Nordic Swan label. All are designed for professional office use and offer eco-efficient cost savings, as well as the reassurance that they have a minimised impact on the environment.

Ray D'arcy, Technical Manager at Brother Ireland, explains: "Brother is constantly working to develop products that offer the best eco-performance - benefitting the environment, as well as providing customers with cost savings from low energy consumption and an extended product lifespan.

"By gaining the Nordic Swan eco-label we are making it easier for customers to identify products that will offer the best environmental performance - highlighting eco-function benefits, such as duplex printing to reduce paper wastage in the office, as well as ensuring low energy-use, emissions and noise levels."

Brother's Nordic Swan products are designed to be easy to repair and upgrade, with spare parts guaranteed to be available for at least five years after production of the specific machine comes to an end. Customers in Ireland can also take advantage of Brother's free European ReNew returns programme, so that their used toner cartridges can be recycled.
