The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Battery Directives.
Brother Ireland is fully committed to its' producer responsibility in relation to Directives, 2002/96/EC and 2006/66/EC of the European Union. These directives are legal in Ireland and are intended to put in place an environmentally sustainable system to ensure that electrical and electronic waste materials, including waste batteries are recycled in a responsible manner.
For many years prior to such legal requirements, Brother had already embarked on an engineering program to design environmentally friendly products, including;
- Ease of Disassembly and Recycling.

- Identification of Plastic Materials

- Incorporate Energy Saving Features.

- Reduction in the use of Hazardous Materials

- Use of Recycled Materials.

Such activities are ongoing in our drive to deliver quality products which have minimal environmental impact but yield high materials recovery at product end of life. In keeping with the legislation, Brother uses the "wheelie bin" symbol to identify product which is WEEE compliant. This is your assurance that Brother International is fully committed to the protection of our environment .
Brother Ireland is a registered member of the WEEE Register Society, registration number 00079WB and is also a member of a Licensed Compliance Scheme.
