Enviromental Policy

Brother Ireland (BIR) is the Irish sales office for the worldwide Brother Group, which has corporate headquarters in Nagoya, Japan.

Our integrated Environmental strategies run throughout the entire Brother International organisation, being guided by legislation and Brother's own rigorous internal environmental policies.

Brother Group philosophy is that we positively and continuously act to improve our Environmental performance so that society can become more sustainable.

As part of this commitment, Brother Ireland has successfully achieved ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems certification. Cert no: 1129 , August 2008.

Working within this Internationaly accepted standard and by applying Brothers' own "5R" concepts - Reduce, Reuse, Refuse, Reform and Recycle - we continuously evaluate and improve our Environmental performance. Additionally, we engage with our suppliers and customers to ensure that they are aware of our Environmental Programme and seek their participation in achieving measureable objectives.

Brother Ireland does not manufacture products. As a sales company, we promote the Environmental benefits of our products and report back to our head office in Japan the demands, comments and concerns of our customers. Our producer responsibility awareness ensures that safety and Environment impact are prime considerations at every stage of our products' lifecycles, from design through to manufacturing and final disposal at end of life.

At all times, Brother will operate within Irish and European Union environmental legislation and will continuously monitor such legislation as it progresses.
