Brother’s latest business products awarded Outstanding Achievement, Highly Recommended and Reliability accolades

Brother’s new printer, scanner and multifunction devices have been praised with outstanding achievement awards as well as recommendation and reliability certificates.

World-leading independent tester of document imaging products Buyer’s Lab (BLI) issued Outstanding Achievement awards to the following Brother products, which are designed for a wide market range, from small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) to large corporations.

Part of BLI’s Summer 2016 Pick Awards, the Outstanding Achievement awards acknowledge products or capabilities that achieved unrivalled performance levels during extensive BLI evaluations and stand out for attributes such as innovation, usefulness, energy efficiency and value.

The highly-respected BLI Pick Awards are some of the industry’s toughest to achieve, with experienced analysts putting products through months of rigorous testing to find a winner. 

BLI Director of Office Equipment Product Analysis Marlene Orr said: “Brother’s new monochrome printers and MFPs are built with the business user in mind, providing outstanding reliability, high-quality output, affordability and an intuitive design that boosts worker productivity.

“The MFC-L5000 series MFPs and HL-L5000 series printers are a great choice for small workgroups, thanks to their compact yet robust design and competitive to lower than average cost of ownership. The MFC-L6900 and HL-L6400 are true workhorse models, offering excellent reliability with no slowdowns during peak usage, class-leading paper capacity and long-life consumables for greater cost savings and reduced environmental impact.”

In addition to the Outstanding Achievement awards, BLI issued Highly Recommended seals and certificates of Reliability across Brother’s 5000 and 6000 printer and multifunction ranges, plus models in its latest ADS range of networked desktop scanners, the ADS-2400N, ADS-2800W and ADS-3600W. The ADS-3000N was granted Recommended status.

David Sweetnam, Director of Research and Lab Services for BLI EMEA/Asia said: “Brother has a tradition of creating quality scanners, printers and multifunction devices and these machines are no different. Brother was also praised for the compatibility of its printers and multifunction devices. Twice a year with the Pick awards, BLI gives special recognition in each category to products that provided the most outstanding performances in BLI’s exhaustive lab tests. Its Outstanding Achievement awards acknowledge products or capabilities that stand out for attributes such as innovation, usefulness, energy efficiency or value.

BLI’s awards stand alone in that they are based on a rigorous battery of lab tests that takes approximately two months to complete. The evaluation includes an extensive durability test, during a portion of which among office product evaluations and uniquely qualifies BLI to assess reliability, a critical factor for buyers and IT directors.

Other performance attributes evaluated include ease of use, media handling, productivity and value, among others. Each product that successfully passes BLI’s lab test earns BLI’s Recommended or Highly Recommended seal and a BLI certificate of Reliability and the best performers qualify as Pick contenders. Consequently, a BLI Pick is a hard-earned award that buyers and IT directors can trust to better guide them in their acquisition decisions.
