The Ecodesign of Energy Related Products Directive 2009/125/EC applies to products sold in European member states. Under the Directive, manufacturers of energy using products are obliged to take proactive steps to reduce the energy consumption of them at design stage.
How are standards met through this Directive?
Standards are adopted through implementing measures. These measures apply to the different groups of products that the Ecodesign Directive relates to.
Compliance Activities for Brother Products
- Our products comply with Off/Standby power levels and External Power Supplies measures
- Brother is a member of EuroVAprint, a not-for-profit association that brings together manufacturers of imaging equipment that operate in Europe. EuroVAprint’s voluntary agreement was redrafted in 2013 to include new standards such as ENERGY Star version 2.0.
- In 2015, implementing measures for network standby power levels will come into effect and we are working towards this compliance with our design teams.
